Cleveland Museum of Art - Cleveland, OH                                                Design with Rafael Vinoly Architects PC

The complicated 1958 expansion and the library will be demolished and replaced by a glass-covered atrium.  Under contract with Rafael Viñoly Architects, a large amount of attention was given to this central atrium, which is accessed directly from the museum’s main entrance in the Breuer building.

The central atrium will be the point of origin for all circulation routes through the reconfigured plan.  It includes a large reflecting pool and acts as an immense glasshouse ‘living room’, garden, performance and gathering space for visitors.
