Cleveland Museum of Art - Cleveland, OH                                               Design with Rafael Vinoly Architects PC

The design of the renovation and expansion re-establishes the north-south symmetrical axis of the museum plan  and surrounding site and restores the prominence of the 1916 building.  Currently in its second phase of construction, the 1916 building and Breuer building will remain virtually untouched and the additions will connect the components in a unified, wholistic way.  High performance glazing is used to visually separate distinct stylistic character and support each ‘era’ of the museum for its own time and right while also celebrating a contemporary manner of design and construction.
